Welcome! The 7th year here has begun. 2016-20, 2022-23!
This is my 4th year at Casa Fuego. It is an apartment with a small kitchen, bathroom and living/sleep area. You can see it on Airbnb. About $43 per night. There is a small hostel connected with the same property. This is a plus rather than a minus in that I am alone and there is a rare chance to run into some of the other residents.
This is a bike trip so better start out with a bike picture.
Most of my pictures are food and ocean! Very very few bike. Of course I ride at 6am and when I get back to the bike shop, they have already taken the group picture. I write a lot (probably way too much) about the rides as you can see below in the links, but no Go Pro and it is dark. I guess I better get the Go Pro skill going.
Wife Kim drove me to our C&J shuttle from Seabook NH. I had a reservation for the 7:30 bus. That got me to Logan airport about 8:30 and I was at the gate by 9:30 for my 10:40 Delta flight. Known Traveler Number (KTN) worked! I did not have to take off my shoes or get out laptop, CPAP snore machine etc!! Even the binoculars stuffed in my coat pocket got through! KTN is a bit of a crapshoot in my experience. I have it on all my Frequent Flyer profiles but sometimes it just does not get printed on the boarding pass. Tuesday at Logan the ticket agent said that my boarding pass was red stamped for KTN. There was no KTN line when I got to TSA but indeed they created one and all went very smoothly.
With my standing room only (:-) status, I was of course assigned a middle seat. When I first arrived at the gate and negotiated Gate Check, I asked about switching to an isle seat. A couple minutes later they called my name and did it!
where Asian. I am always very interested in finding out what my fellow passengers are doing, but etc but the two young ladies in my row really seemed too insular for stranger conversation. I can’t let the flight pass without retelling my overhead bin packing strategy. This is at least part of the reason my wife prefers to sit far enough away that she can claim no connection. Even having gate checked the rollie, I have too much stuff. A fleece and a raincoat, both with pockets packed with everything from underware up. An umbrella. And even with all this, there is no way my back pack would ever fit under the seat. I carry a small empty backpack and plastic bags. My large backpack has three compartments. One is designated for “unloading”. I rip its contents out and into the auxiliary containers and store them in the overhead with the 2 coats and umbrellas. I place the laptop and largest book in the seat pouch and then the backpack fits neatly under the seat. I have travelled before.
