I am pretty consistent at taking a picture each night at dinner. Here we go.
Chicken Taco. The soft Tacos are in the bread basket, wrapped for protection. The bag to the right is my suitcase: book, headlamp, case for reading glasses. Between me and the naptin basket are a few sauces that I always try.
A general view of the next table and the restaurant.
This tourist restaurant from the sidewalk. It is very near the central circle where the 2 Hotel Road bus routes, R1 and R2 diverge for the first time after leaving the Hotel Road.
As I have said elsewhere, for the last 7 years I have always had my first dinner at the wonderful slightly formal Mexican restaurant La Habichuela. It is right off the children;’s square El Parque de las Palapas. This year the square is under construction and Habichuela is closed. I will try again in 2025!
Thursday, Day 2, I am back at another regular, La Dolce Vita. It is just a short walk from my apartment.
The first picture is of their wonderful always free Foie Gras Pate. I have to remember to take the jell cover off the Pate.
Picture 2 is of the special, Duck with Orange Sauce and a little splurge on a chocolate dessert!
Day three I am onto a new one for me: Rolandi’s. It is almost night next door to La Dolce Vita.
I sit at the bar. Have a margarita with no ice. Start with a salade.
and finish with Cheese Ravioli. Wonderful story, see the television? Suddenly it is showing porn of a couple making love. The men to my left are amused! and the bar tenders scramble to change the channel before anyone notices.
Day 4, Saturday, onto Sushi. A Tuna poke bowl, Big Ell role, warm Saki at a restaurant not far from the old Beer Box.
Day 5 Sunday, Another new restraint, Kaajal, a walk in from the 2K bus stop on the hotel road, through the tall pillars.
I am looking out on the Marina. People seem to be sitting on a catamaran for cocktails in the harbor.
These people are watching the sunset. I had a wonderful creamy lemon soup with a shrimp and a little octopus taco.
Monday I am back to La Dolce Vita. A different table. The same peta appetizer and the book open.
Pork Shank. Very good, I am a sucker for shank, lamb or pork! I always bring my water bottle to cut down on expense.
Above is Peter’s. The highest class restaurant that I frequent. This is the Venison special. They are not open Sun Mon.
Walking away after dinner, this is Peter’s from the outside.
Wednesday Jan 10. This is a new one for me. Patravali. Indian and very close to my apartment. I really enjoyed it.
On the far left is a very good non-alcoholic cocktail. A lamb dish and then in the center even a shot of Tequila.
Thursday Jan 11 Another new one, Krudo Raw Bar and Grill. It is on the Hotel Road, about 1K after the Pirate.
I ordered a soft shell crab and a raw tuna flatbread. Very good. Asked for them to be brought together.
You can see that I am right at a Marina.
This is the real Cancun Sushi, Hanaichi. Right in the main complex at 9K
I had a combination plate, a single piece of eel and a spicy tuna hand role, and a little Saki!
I never get to the center of the action near Coco Bongo at night but since I was at the Sushi place next door.
I wondered out to take a few pictures, It is still very early, like 8PM. Things do not really get going until after 11.
