Korea 2024: Seoul Sunday

The last day! Kim went off to the DMZ and will give a full report. She came back with great stories.

My idea was mainly Beer. I got the above tomato pesto bread at a local bakery and researched beer places/
A wild Saison at Alendang. I saw the bar/beer list yesterday as we ate at Craft Roo and walked around very near hotel.
It opened at 11:30. Group 2 women 1 man from Seattle tried to join me, admission fee one beer each, was too steep.
Saison was quite good. Wild if used in Belgium might refer to the yeast being wild in the air but I doubt that here.

I found a travel blogger Everyone Hates A Tourist by Jonathan Sacks who had an article 10 Great Places for Craft Beer in Seoul, South Korea and worked from that. He did not have Alendang but lots of others. As I researched them to get open times and directions, some appeared to be closed but I think that info was mainly mistaken. I tookour subway and a connection to get to itaewon and walked a fair way to his “street” where he found great stuff.

A family biking away in the background. I call them by tribe or people. It is Sunday. Seoul is not bike friendly!
Lunch #2 with another Pizza and Saison. Kim called on the phone while I was here and we scrambled to meet up.
These pictures are all taken within a couple blocks. Where Jonathan’s article sent me. Can you read the Belgium Beer?
The White Rabbit was not open but you can see it is sporting quite the pedigree of beers.
There was even this church crammed into by beer blocks
Believe it or not, a bottle shop to equal any in the world. Nothing in Boston. I got two great Belgium’s for tonight.

The clerk then wrote out the subway stop that I needed the Taxi to take me to. Another woman helped me stand in the right spot and I got to Kim only about 30 minutes after her. She said she could see my white hat bouncing along the crowd after I got out of the taxi and we met up.

Back to the room, unload and out to Dinner. We had not been able to find this Greek last night and tonight Kim did!
They asked us to come back in an hour so we sat out on the street! Nothing but flexable!
Salad and chicken and tezzeki and a little Ouzo were quite good. Kim was starved and I had had 2 lunches!

Back to the room for one last night. Check out is at noon and the flight is at 10pm. It will be a long day!
