While biking in Lagos Portugal, I ran into Alan Nestor at my favorite Baffi Bar. When I heard he was from Scotland, I told him about my upcoming trip and my immediate challenge of trying to rent a bike rack. Turns out that Alan is involved with Edinburgh Bicycle Cooperative Ltd and offered to make the bike rack problem go away. So our first stop after renting the car was to pick up a wonderful Saras? bike rack and then on to rent the bike at what Alan said were he competitors at Biketrax 11 Lochrin Place, Tollcross, Edinburgh.
In Claremont and Lagos I am able to get the bike providers to swap out the normal rear cassette, 52/34 for a 52/32 one. Just a little extra granny gear to get me up with hills with the Claremont Senior Biking Group! I was not able to convince Biketrax to do this but it turned out that they were correct, I never had to get off and walk up a hill.
