Tim Pond 2024: Friday

Here we go, first day at Kim Pond. There are no pictures of breakfast, or lunch for that matter! Each meal was served in the dinning room that you will see many pictures of. I assume Breakfast started at 7, Lunch at 12 and I know dinner was at 5pm. After breakfast, I started out walking the road that I had come in on. After about a mile I came to the intersection where thr right led around the pond and the left lead back to the access road.

The intersection, as if one could miss it, is marked with this unique object.
Generally the road I was following looked like this. On saturday I actually drove it but today I am walking.
I came to a clearing off the road on my right. I figured it would lead to the pond and so I bushwacked.
I sware I got closer, so close I could ID the same spot from the water in a boat later, but I have only this picture.
Walking back for lunch, on the return leg past the truck with skeleton, this is the pond on the left from the road.
After lunch I took a boat over to that same area. I would sware it was a motor boat but sure looks like a canoe!
The adventurer!
Coming back into camp. They started me out in a motorboat but early on I asked for a canoe. Did much better.
After lunch I drove counter clockwise around Tim. Turned around at this snowmobile sign. It was pretty rough road.
Dinner at 5pm. Pork? mashed potatoes, gravy in the silver pot, stuffing. And of course a Pears sign.
Desert! Placemat map. I took one home each meal. I will include one here to give a better idea of the camp layout.

The only other picture from Friday is of the moon and it is too dark to post until I get a computer App to adjust the brightness! Thursday night a man had stated a fire in a stone chimney at the bottom of the clearing and I went down there and joined him at the picnic tables. He was joined by others in his party. Very enjoyable conversation. But tonight, Friday, I was alone, no one came.

One of the main things I desire at the woods camps is conversation. A little like my bike trips. I can keep myself occupied quite well during the day out in nature. The setup here for meals is not conducive to my joining other tables. I am assigned to my table. I do show up for meals early, sit on the porch, and that provides a little socializing. And I speak to the families who are playing with the children and dogs as I walk to and from my cabin.
