The Cost is in!
I have said for years, it costs me about $1500/week to travel. That includes EVERYTHING, plane, hotel, food, etc. Even the Hawaiian Shirts from Good Will at 2,99 each. (Just Kidding, they do cost that much but I do not include that expense!) This 2024 Logas was over, but only by like $200!
Air fare was 850, INCLUDING the 123 they stole at the end!
Hostel in Lagos was 717 for 13 nights, about $56 a night
Lisbon airbnbs were like 120 each, 240 total.
Bike was 185. I paid in euro so this is a little apples to oranges but you get the point
I paid Verizon 10/day so 160 for phone
I took out 752 in cash
I charged 817 on the credit card
Total is about 3800 for 16 days. As I said my normal previous runs in China, Belgium, Cancun, Lagos etc is about $1500/week or $200/day. So this was really very close.
Some big overages: TAP was more expensive even before they stole 120. Lisboa airbnb used to be like 50! and are now 120. Could be partly that I was traveling closer to summer. My trip did include Easter. Great food seemed to still be very inexpensive. Also, I guess I should mention that I was not drinking! That clearly cut the cost. I did buy a LOT of extra non-alcoholic beer that I just ditched at the hostel but, well worth it.
